History

Rick and Bal Fisher are the proud owners of Glenwood Meats, a third-generation butcher shop located on Parkdale Drive in Victoria, BC.

The business traces its roots to the 1930s, when Milton Fisher sold meat from a van, as many vendors did at the time. In the 1950s, a small slaughterhouse was built, leading to the establishment of a retail meat business that thrived through the 1960s and 1970s under the leadership of Milton’s son, Barry. After a brief closure, Barry’s son, Rick, reopened the retail and wholesale operations in 1981 and has since grown the business into the respected company it is today, employing more than fifty people.

Rick and Bal continue this proud family tradition by offering a wide selection of high-quality cut meats, sausages, cured and smoked products, and innovative new offerings.
